Why not "step around" something you want to avoid for now?
National Walk Around Things Day is celebrated on April 4th annually in the US, figuratively and physically speaking.
In case it's helpful, below are the topics covered in this post:
About This Day
I searched online for this holiday's origin story, but I was unable to find information about who created this day or when it was first celebrated.
In fact, National Walk Around Things Day appears to be open to interpretation. Celebrate in a way that suits you.
How to Celebrate
Physically speaking, National Walk Around Things Day is a good excuse to walk around things. You could walk around:
Plants
Offices
College or university campuses
Shopping centers
Ponds or lakes
It is possible you would see some interesting things on your walk.
Figuratively speaking, National Walk Around Things Day is an opportunity to avoid issues in your life. You could "walk" around:
Potential problems
Risks and dangerous situations
Confrontation and arguments
Uncomfortable conversation
Unwanted events
How I Celebrated Today (and Every Day)
I figuratively walk away from most of my problems when I walk my dogs. It is an opportunity for me to think clearly or completely clear my mind. Unfortunately for my dogs, we walk further and longer the more unsettled my mind is.
While we walk, we physically walk around obstacles like other park-goers, animals, dog poop (because some dog owners are irresponsible), and more.
My new puppy is not entirely leash trained and likes to cross in front of me. When she does that, I typically walk around her.
By the time we finish walking, I am typically too tired to think about problems. Unfortunately, I am more likely to walk into things because I only want to sit and rest.
What's Next?
National Walk Around Things Day is a good enough excuse for you to walk around something in your life. Whether it is a physical or figurative thing you want to avoid, it may lead to a less stressful day.
