Early booking for WDW Disney After Hours Boo Bash tickets started 8 June 2021, but it didn't seem like getting tickets would've been possible today.

The WDW Disney After Hours Boo Bash is a special Halloween-themed event that occurs in Magic Kingdom on select nights in August, September, and October. This year, the event's offered in place of the annual Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

This year's Boo Bash limited capacity three-hour event will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight primarily on Tuesday and Friday nights, with a few Sunday nights in October. The Disney Parks Blog's post where they shared More Details Revealed for ‘Disney After Hours Boo Bash’ suggested that some nights may start at 9:30 p.m. and end at 12:30 a.m.

Prices range between $129 USD to $199 USD depending on the event date. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can take advantage of a discount for event dates in August and September.

Below are the perks of attending this year's Boo Bash:

  • Early admission starting at 7 p.m. to Boo Bash tickets holders.

  • Fewer guests in attendance due to limited capacity.

  • Lower wait times for all rides, including E-Ticket rides.

  • Trick-or-treat for candy throughout the park at different locations.

  • Specialty Halloween-themed food and drinks available.

  • Complimentary snacks available, including popcorn, ice cream, and water.

  • Rare character sightings around Magic Kingdom.

  • Special cavalcades of characters throughout the night.

  • Special PhotoPass experiences available outside some popular rides.

My Experience Purchasing Tickets

My Dad received an email a couple weeks ago letting him know about today's date to purchase tickets early. He received a reminder email this morning.

We originally had a resort reservation for April 2020 and park tickets set to expired in Fall 2020, but we postponed our trip to a later date due to our concerns during the pandemic.

We didn't think park tickets purchased through a military installation would be extended past the 2020 expiration date, but we were informed late last year that our park tickets were extended into Fall 2021. We changed the dates for our resort reservation, which made us eligible to purchase Boo Bash tickets during the early booking window.

The morning didn't start off well for most resort guests, including us, trying to purchase Boo Bash tickets over the phone. Many stated through various social media platforms that they received error messages or simply couldn't get through. This was apparently the case when guests also tried calling other WDW phone numbers.

Dad and I both tried various WDW numbers we could find and often received one of the following automated messages:

  • "Sorry. The number you called was busy. Please try again later."

  • "Your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please, check the number and dial again."

  • "We're sorry. All circuits are busy now. Will you please try your call again later?"

There were times when we received only a busy signal. There were other times when the call automatically hung up on us.

Even the chat window through the My Disney Experience website didn't give us any luck getting through to a cast member.

Dad gave up around 10 a.m. stating he'd check again later since there was no rush following the worldwide internet issue.

Did you know?... There were news stories reporting about how the world went offline today, like CNN's article about how the Major internet outage impacts websites and apps around the world.

The pessimist in me figured today was a lost cause with trying to get Boo Bash tickets. However, I decided to celebrate Upsy Daisy Day by looking at the bright side and having a teeny-tiny itty-bitty tid bit of hope.

For three hours every ten or fifteen minutes I tried calling. When I finally heard and went through the automated WDW phone menu options, I then waited another hour and forty-five minutes until I spoke with a real-life cast member!

I can't imagine how the cast member's day has been up to the time we spoke, but she was polite, friendly, and chipper for a mid-afternoon call! I appreciated her time, patience, and effort helping us (and likely many other guests) purchase Boo Bash tickets.

We're now good-to-go! We received a confirmation email, but we were informed that our Boo Bash tickets wouldn't appear through My Disney Experience until after the tickets were available to the general public.

What's Next?

The Disney music I heard while on hold and the adrenaline of finally getting Boo Bash tickets encouraged me to watch Disney Park videos on YouTube. I'll be watching videos uploaded by TheTimTracker, DFBGuide, Mickey Views, and more if you need me today.
