Celebrate Fun Day on April 1st by, well, having fun doing something you enjoy! But first, let us briefly identify a few ways having fun is beneficial to adults.

In case it's helpful, below are the main points covered in this post:

About This Day

Research suggests that enjoying a fun activity reduces stress and anxiety, lifts your mood, promotes creativity, and boosts your energy. In fact, it may improve your health, making life more manageable and enjoyable.

During a TEDTalk by Dr. Stuart Brown (Stuart Brown: Play is more than fun), Dr. Brown discussed how having fun and 'playing' makes people smarter at any age.

My takeaway from learning about this holiday is that fun is essential for mental health!

How to Celebrate

The best way to celebrate Fun Day is to, well, have fun! Whether it is something physical like bicycling, sedentary like reading, or quick like solitaire, try to dedicate time doing something you enjoy today.

At the very least, you can crack wholesome jokes outside of class, share silly stories in the office, or listen to comedians' jokes while working at your desk.

I hope to dedicate time playing a video game later this evening. Gaming is one of my many ways to have fun and relieve stress.

What's Next?

Having fun means different things to different people, so be sure to celebrate this day by doing something you enjoy!
