I have been entertained by AITA Reddit posts.
Recently, I have been obsessed with Reddit's AITA posts. Maybe this is phase of mine, but many posts have entertained me for a few months now.
In case it's helpful, below are the topics covered in this post:
How I Got into It
I like background noise. So, while I am doing something like craft or cook, I typically play YouTube videos to drown the silence.
A few months ago, YouTube recommended several channels where a narrator reads AITA Reddit posts and some comments. The original text is typically posted onscreen if I wanted to read along, but I prefer to listen while I am preoccupied with other things.
Having narration and podcast channels like this keep me entertained when I am unable to focus my attention on the screen. Visual is unnecessary to me with these channels, but there is something to see on those few occasions that I look away from whatever else I am doing.
AITA Reddit stories are new to me. These posts were not something I paid attention to in the past until I heard the story about an adult child not knowing how to handle their narcissistic mother's unbelievable request for something. It hit too close to home for me.
Some posts are relatable and like past situations. I like hearing comments about whether an original poster (OP) was deemed an AH for how they handled a situation and comparing the results to my own relatable experience. I find it interesting to hear people's different points of view about things.
However, most posts are simply entertaining short stories to me. Whether or not they are true does not matter to me if I enjoyed hearing them.
The Post That Hooked Me
The AITA Reddit post that made me laugh in the end was where the OP asked the following question: AITA for telling my SIL that no one in our family is named Stephanie?
In short, a man thought it would be funny to name his children after characters of Batman comics. He insisted on names shared with different Robin characters (i.e., Ricky, Jace, Stephanie, and Tim), but his wife was unaware of his intent.
The reveal, thanks to commenters who made the connection between the original post and the Batman comic book series, was, as another commenter wrote, "sitcom levels of hilarity." Well, at least I found it funny.
Hopefully, it was a joke post. If not, then I hope the married couple were able to make amends and the story is told for generations to come in their family!

or the XO Stories YouTube video I watched/listened to for the full story with updates.
What's Next?
Shortly, I will listen to narrated AITA Reddit posts (and some podcasts) while I craft some polymer clay projects. It is time to relieve some stress by listening to strangers' stressful Reddit post stories.
Don't forget to subscribe below to be notified by email when I post something new.
Thanks, and have a great day!
