Just some of my favorite Disney love songs.
I love all things Disney, including the movie soundtracks. In honor of Valentine's Day, I wanted to share five Disney animated movie love songs I will be listening to.
In case it's helpful, below are the topics covered in this post:
My Top 5
After listening to a countdown on the Disney Hits channel recently, I thought it would be fun to list my favorite Disney animated movie love songs.
It was difficult to rate these songs, especially when there are so many great tracks to choose from!
5. "I Won't Say I'm in Love" (from Hercules - Susan Egan)
I enjoy listening to this upbeat song about how Meg denies the love she feels towards Hercules. As someone who struggles with showing my emotions, I can see myself secretly loving another person, but being scared to admit it aloud.
4. "Ma Belle Evangeline" (from The Princess and The Frog - Jim Cummings)
This dedicated love song from Ray to the light of his life, Evangeline, always puts a smile on my face. I especially love that Ray got to be closer to Evangeline at the end of the movie.
3. "I See the Light" (from Tangled - Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi)
Tangled is one of my favorite Disney animated movies as I find Rapunzel relatable to me - sheltered with strict house rules, emotionally manipulated by a mother figure, and taught to distrust others' motives.
It was amazing to see her explore the world around her, learn that good people exist, and enjoy life outside of the confines of her tower. Her learning she could fall in love was a bonus for me to see.
2. "So This is Love" (from Cinderella - Ilene Woods and Mike Douglas)
Not only is this a classic fairytale love song, but it is a song I listened to as a lullaby as a child. I owned a music box that played the instrumental version of this song and often played it at bedtime.
While I no longer own that music box, hearing this song still makes me feel calm and relaxed. Ilene Woods' voice is soothing to my ears. This is a sweet song to listen to 2. whenever I feel stressed.
1. "A Whole New World" (from Aladdin - Lea Salonga and Brad Kane)
My Mom, a Filipina, was a Lea Salonga fan since the early eighties. We listened to Lea's album often in the car. I adored her singing voice.
I was overjoyed when I learned a Filipina that I grew up to adore had voiced a character in a movie that convinced me that I will never stop loving cartoons and all things Disney.
What's Next?
There are many other amazing Disney animated movie love songs I left off my list like I'm Wishing, Can You Feel the Love Tonight?, Bella Notte, Love, and Once Upon a Dream.
