These are some winter-themed videos that may spark your creativity.
I've challenged myself to upload a winter-themed video daily from December 1st through December 25th. I thought I'd share what I've uploaded thus far in case you'd be interested in trying a few yourself over the holidays.
Check-out the Winter-Themed Videos Part 1 of 2 for more craft project ideas.
Resin Tree Ornaments
As I've done with several recent resin crafts, I used pattern, decorative paper to make epoxy resin ornaments.
I worried I used too much epoxy resin to make these ornaments, but my small tabletop Christmas tree can support the weight!
1st Time Trying Shrink Film
I experimented with shrink film for the first time to make a few keychains. I used my Posca paint markers to draw and color a design. Everything curled while baking, but I was able to salvage all but one piece.
Polymer Clay Gift Tags
I made various gift tag shapes out of polymer clay. I also decorated them differently just to show off some different styles.
Holiday Wreath Cup
I used gouache paints to decorate a Dollar Tree plastic cup. The artwork admittedly isn't the best, but the process wasn't difficult. I also had fun, but I always enjoy painting.
DIY Paper Gift Bags
This is a rare, narrated video. I struggled putting into words how to make paper gift bags, but hopefully the two different perspectives in the video are helpful.
Fun Fold Greeting Cards
Fun fold (nontraditional) greeting cards requires more steps to hand make compared to other greeting card styles. However, I shared a couple designs that aren't difficult to make but will take time.
Laser Engraved Holiday Tiles
Using my NEJE Master 2 (20 watt) blue diode laser machine and cold galvanizing compound, I engraved a few tiles with simple winter-themed silhouetted.
FAILED Resin Trinket Boxes
These epoxy resin trinket boxes have flaws, but I thought I'd share the failed pieces with you. Not every project is successful, but they serve as a learning experience that prepares us to try again next time.
No-Sew Dog Bandanas
I like letting my dogs wear bandanas, and I decided to make a couple bandanas from a sheet of Frozen Olaf fabric.
Polymer Clay ' Artsy' Snowman
For run, I made a couple 'artsy' snowmen. The six-inch snowman is the largest polymer clay figure I've made to date. The eyes creep me out, but otherwise I like how it turned out.
I also made a smaller figure that I wear as a necklace. I think it's cuter and less creepy.
Festive Pluto Speed Paint
I painted a festive Pluto on an oval wood plaque with gouache paints. I treated this as one of my art exercises and focused on shading and highlights. It's one of my rare paintings where I didn't finish the artwork off with an outline.
Decoupage Paper Mache Box
I used Mod Podge (decoupage glue) to adhere pattern paper over a plain, boring paper mache box. It was an easy, but messy way to decorate the box.
Last Minute Holiday Card
Sometimes we just need to hand make a greeting card on such short notice. I believed one easy way to do just that was with scrap paper that may be lying around somewhere.
Laser Engraved Wood Plaque
I used my NEJE Master 2 (20 watt) blue diode laser machine to engrave a Christmas-themed silhouette onto an oval wood plaque.
I believe I messed up the image settings because the text didn't engrave into the wood completely. It was an easy fix with my handheld wood burning tool.
What's Next?
I hoped these art and craft projects sparked your inner creativity and gave you some ideas for this or next holiday season! Some people celebrate Christmas in July... I'm just saying.
